The Wilder Horse Barn was reconstructed in 2002 and 2003 to be like the original barn of around 1875. That barn was torn down in the mid 20th century and is post and beam " bank barn " meaning it is built into the side of a hill or bank so you can enter and exit at ground level from the back. To aid in accurate reconstruction they photographed the original from every angle possible in 1920. Even the location, windows, doors, and even the number of boards and battens are the same. The barn is 54 feet by 32 feet. The lumber in the barn is spruce, hemlock, pine and oak. About the only difference is the foundation. The original foundation was dry laid stone. The new is mica schist that is mortared over concrete and quarried locally. Such changes were necessary to meet modern building codes and the use of the downstairs as a restroom and picnic area. The following are some photographs and descriptions of some of the vehicles stored in the barn.
Calvin Coolidge Telling About Special Times I am sure you old timers know what " Bees ". were. No not honey bees. These were times when a group of people would get together to do certain things, Like getting together to husk and shell corn. Our modern item might be a spelling bee.

In the interest of keeping this from being a full length novel I will break it down into smaller bites since there are so many photographs and perhaps you can follow along with me easier.
Remember God Loves you and so do I.
