Ark Encounter, July 12, 2016 Post 2

This posting covers my second visit to see the recreation of the life size Ark that Noah constructed following the instruction given to him by God. I was able to see the Ark this time thanks to My oldest daughter's college roommate. She and her husband were scheduled to stay with me a few days while they visited the Ark,Creation Museum and other sites around Cincinnati. He was having cateract surgery and they found a tumor on his optic nerve. Needless to say the trip was cancelled and the tickets were sent to me. My buddy Jim took a day of vacation. I put Annnabel in day boarding at 7:30 in the morning. Jim picked me up at the boarding location and we took off for the Ark which opened at 9 AM. We arrived a few minutes before nine and were able to park close to the ticket office and where you catch the bus to go to the Ark. You can see in the following photograph that by arriving early and it being a workday there were no lines to contend with. The few people you see are watching a video of Noah being interviewed by a reporter who obversivly was not a believer of Noah purpose for building the Ark or that God told him to built it because the world was to be destroyed by a flood. She scoffed at the idea that God gave him the instruction on how to build the Ark.
No lines.
When you get to the actual entry door to the Ark there you will find the photographers who take your photograph which of course you can buy in the gift shop as you leave the Ark. The photographer thought she was going to take a photograph of me by myself and unbeknowns to her I took her photograph.

After entering the Ark we looked at a few things on deck 1 which I will tell about in a future posting. Our main objective this visit was to get a good look at the Living Quarters of Noah and his family.

 Entrance into the Living Quarters
As you walk through the Living Quarters you need to keep this photograph firmly in your mind an continuely remember it because no one knows what the living quarters looked like so as you see "Artistic License" were  taken. I have no problem with the way they reasoned how they may have lived in an area of the Ark. I can imagine the entire family after working all day to care for and feed the "passengers" must have been exhausted when it came time for bed so they would have wanted some comfort. Since there were four married couples they would have wanted some privacy and they had that I think we can safely say Noah's wife and his son's wives were extremely talented so I can see that they would have made their living quarters comfortable and attractive.

It is important to remember the above as you visit most area of the Ark. I was struck for the first  time as I looked at the recreated figures of Noah and his family that these are my ancestors in one fashon or another.I have read the account of Noah and the flood in the bible many time but the thought of them truely being my ancestors never occured to me. They are however the ancestors of everyone who has lived on the earth since the flood and is now living on the earth.
Noah's Family meet your Ancesters
The Bible does not tell us the name of Noah's wife or the wives of the three sons. EMZARA is the name that has been given to Noah's wife and AR"YEL is the name that has been given to Shem's wife.
See the following enlargement of the appearance section above.

Abilities of Noah and his family. Also you have to realize that mankind and civilization at the time of Noah had advanced greatly. When you realize his age just look at the time he had to acquire a vast amount of knowledge and skills. We are not told this in the Bible but I suspect that since God knew what He had planned for Noah he was preparing him as he aged. I do know that when God gives you a job to do he will prepare you to do the job.

Following the tour of the Family Living Quarters Jim and I went through the first and second deck and the other displays on the third deck. That material will be featured on a future posting. Jim and I had lunch at Emzara's kitchen which is a very spacious dining area.

Remember as I always say God loves you and so do I.

  1. It really was an amazing place to see. One day to cram it all in was very tough. I enjoyed the day there and had a great time with my family. I didn't see nearly everything and maybe I can return someday but what I did see was awesome. Thanks so much Dad.
