Continuing East From Cedar City, Utah, Sep. 7, 2013.

Today is September 7, 2013, I am up and  Lady Blue is packed and ready to go and I slept in a little this morning and ate breakfast of cereal, yogurt and juice at the motel and then  hit the road again. Beautiful sunrise this morning. My route is north on I - 15 and later on I - 70 East takes me by all the places I spent a week looking at. When I turn east on I - 70 the sun was very bright and the sun glasses were needed big time. The drive was through mountain passes and river valleys and deep canyons. The views were spectacular as follows.

I considered taking this short diversion but decided not to. The area I have been driving through changes every few miles. Here there are a lot of valleys with beautiful rivers and field with cattle and orchards and then you start uphill and go through a pass that may be 5,000 feet plus to close to 8,000 feet in elevation. These passes are taking me around mountain peaks that are over 11,000 feet in elevation. Amazingly there are stretches where there are small towns every few miles then you may go for miles with limited gasoline or service of any kind but it is beautiful country.

At this point I turned the camera off and just settled in for some long and tedious driving through the beautiful mountainous area of Colorado. Interstate 70 passes through several high passes from Grand Junction to Denver as I recall the highest was Overland Pass at 11,992 feet elevation. The bypass around Denver is such that you hardly see Denver except off in the distance. I had planned to spend the night just east of Denver but there were no motels close to the interstate and soon there were no motels at all so I kept going and at a one places they had no vacancies.  I finally got to Limon, Colorado and stayed at a nice Comfort Inn and it sold out just a few minutes after I checked in. This is so typical of this vast area. Every hundred or so miles you will find an intersection at which will be a couple of large truck stops, a couple of  motels and fast food places. I got me a salad at Sub Way in walking distance of the motel and ate dinner in my room. It has been a very long day with a lot of stops and walking plus I did not count it but I have driven between 600 and 700 miles today. Tomorrow is another busy day so to bed I go thanking God for his watch care and protection throughout this wonderful day.

As always remember that God Loves you and so do I.

Today's thought: " Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? "
1 Corinthians 3:16.
