Christmas Trip 2012, December 13, 2012 # 2

After completing the tour of the Jefferson Western Expansion Memorial with the ride up to the top and taking in the breathtaking view I spent some time exploring the very good museum and its displays. That I am aware of, all Park Service operated and maintained have the same basic layout. By this they general tell a story and in my estimation do it very well with paintings of the period, displays appropriate to the period being covered and plaques telling you what you are viewing. I like this process because it brings it all together. The big catch is that you really understand you have to take your time and follow the sequence of the layout of the museum. By this I mean each display kind of build on the one you just looked at. If you are walking through and you see something across the way and jump over there look at it, then you hop back to something else you loose the continuity of the layout and the story.

This just about closes my comments about the St Louis Arch. I really enjoyed this visit and recommend it for your education and enjoyment. As always I encourage you to so slow through these museums and memorial so you will have time to read the plaques because they truly tell the story. Next I want to briefly write about the old court house in St Louis.

I am enjoying a brief visit with Jamie and her family. Good night and remember God loves you and so do I.
